Budget Alert!

The state budget crisis has trickled down to us and we have been forced to reduce both our Summer and Fall 2010 offerings.   At this time we have cancelled one of two sections of LH28A/D Permacuture, LH501 Intersession class for Urban Gardening, and LH56A/C Regenerative Design.  These three classes along with what was already cut for Spring 2010 has us meeting are targeted reduction goal.  I am afraid to say that Spring 2011 will experience even more class reductions.

What can you do?

At this time to prevent further reductions it is imperative that you ENROLL EARLY AND OFTEN!   Classes not meeting minimum class size will be cut.  Tell your classmates, your friends, colleagues, whomever might be interested in enrolling in classes.  Traditionally we enroll late, however this time procrastinating could mean there could either be no room or no class.  Of course, you could write, email, march, and protest these drastic cuts to education as well.

Financial Changes!

At this time, starting in Summer 2010, the district is requiring all students to pay for their classes 2 weeks before the first day of class.  If you have not paid but have enrolled you will be dropped from the class.  If you are enrolling within 2 weeks of the start date you will have to pay for the class in order to be admitted.  This is a dramatic change from past procedures so please take note and let your classmates know as well.

Summer/Fall offerings-

The most up to date schedule will be the one posted on this website.  As we make changes to the schedule we will do our best to post them immediately.  The Peralta printed schedule is usually partially out of date simply due to its early printing.  Check with us or the website for late changes.

Lastly, there are some very exciting curricular additions in the works.  I’ll tell you more about them in the next What’s New!
