Welcome to the latest news update for Landscape Horticulture. The devastating budget cuts for the community colleges continues to deeply affect Merritt College and the Landscape Horticulture department. As in fall, one of the most significant changes is going to be the cancellation of under-enrolled classes during the holiday break.  While we have previously had the luxury of waiting until one or even two weeks into the semester before deciding the fate of marginally enrolled classes, that time is over. Budget cuts are forcing us to dramatically reduce the number of sections we offer and one quick way to address this is to cancel under-enrolled classes sooner rather than later. The thinking behind this is that it then gives students the opportunity to choose other classes which are assured of being offered. So, PLEASE enroll now and enroll often!!! Your help here is critical to the survival of some exciting classes.

PLEASE look at the latest schedule of classes which is listed under class schedule on this website as there have been several changes from the initially published schedule which is on the Peralta website.
This site will always have the latest information on our classes.  I’ll keep you posted as we know more about how the latest budget developments affect our department.
