Come join Merritt College and the Propagation Club for a weekend full of music, food, and plants. This year's fall plant sale will bring a wide array of winter and perennial vegetable starts, as well as california native and drought tolerant species and a wide array of succulents. A list of available plants will be available before the event, so visit the Plant Sale page for more information.
If you plan to take classes in Landscape Horticulture this fall, PLEASE REGISTER AS SOON AS POSSIBLE, for 2 important reasons!
Beginning this summer and fall semesters, it is REQUIRED that students pay their tuition fees in full PRIOR to the first day of class. Fees can be paid at the Merritt College Cashier's Office or can be paid online using the Peralta PASSPORT System. Students are asked to pay fees 2 weeks prior to the beginning of the semester. Those students enrolling after this period should pay their fees IMMEDIATELY to avoid a hold being placed on your account. Students on a Wait List must regularly check email during the registration period to see when they might be admitted to the class. Your enrollment fees paid in advance for your class under the new policy can be requested for a full refund if the class is cancelled or you drop a full semester class during the first 2 weeks of the term. Merritt College Landscape Horticulture Department is proud to announce the introduction of many new classes for the 2010-2011 academic year, while some other classes have been phased out. These changes are all designed to offer our students more comprehensive class options that address student interests and at the same time provide practical and up-to-date education that reflect recent changes in the field of Landscape Horticulture. For a complete list and descriptions of our classes please see our Course Descriptions page. Registration for returning students will begin April 14th. Students should have received a postcard indicating the time when their registration would begin. For new students, or those students returning to school after a break in studies, registration will begin May 3rd. Due to statewide budget cuts, and the popularity of our courses, we are encouraging students to enroll early to ensure that they have a place in our summer and fall classes. We expect our high demand classes to fill up quickly, and those classes that do not have sufficient enrollment are subject to being eliminated before the beginning of the semester. Encourage friends, colleagues and neighbors who share your interest in horticulture to look at our schedule and enroll!
